Speed Racer

Growing up, Speed Racer was my favorite cartoon on TV. This battered sign reminded me of its style.

In Japan, the show was called Mach Go Go Go (マッハＧoＧoＧo) — go being the Japanese number 5 as well as the English go. Click here to see the opening to the original Japanese version.

    Best cartoon ever, although I always rooted for Racer X. Wasn't Racer X Speed's older brother?

    I think so, but it seems to me it was meant to be a mystery — something not found out until the end. It's been a while, so I could be entirely wrong.

    I think I like the US version of the opening more than the Japanese version. That aside, I really miss watching Speed Racer and Mach 5 in action. I especially love seeing Mach 5 use its unique functions.

    Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer Goooo~ Watching the video reminded me of how I used to watch this with my friends when I was still a kid. It's amazing how they matched the lip movements with the english dub, hence the fast talking scenes.
